Manchester, NH [5/27/18] - Gunnar Heidt's successful squeeze play gave the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) a 3-2 walk-off win over the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies) on Sunday afternoon.
Hartford took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Omar Carrizales singled and scored on a base hit by Ryan Metzler. The Yard Goats added a run in the top of the sixth inning on a Scott Burcham sacrifice fly
Those would be the only runs allowed in Patrick Murphy's Double-A debut. He worked six innings, allowed four hits, walked three and struck out six.
The Fisher Cats struck back with four consecutive singles with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game. Jonathan Davis and MLB rehabber Randal Grichuk had the first two hits, scoring on singles by Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggo to make it 2-2.
Bichette finished 1-for-3 with walk, and hit third in the lineup on a rare day off for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The teams meet again on Monday at 1:35 p.m. to finish the five-game series at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Wrap up Memorial Day Weekend by helping the Fisher Cats thank those who have served. Special pre-game festivities will honor veterans from each branch of the military and officially welcome them home, courtesy of Amoskeag Beverages. Veterans with a valid Military ID will receive a complimentary ticket, courtesy of Amoskeag Beverages, at the Box Office.
