ALTOONA, PA [6/15/18] - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) fell behind early and never recovered Friday night, losing 10-1 to the Altoona Curve (Pirates) at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
After Altoona took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, New Hampshire scored their only run of the game in the third. One out singles from Jonathan Davis and Jon Berti - the latter of the RBI variety - tied the game at one.
It was all Curve from there. The Pirates affiliate scored one in the third, six in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the eighth to go on to win 10-1.
Nick Hartman and Danny Young were the only two of the five pitchers used by the 'Cats tonight who did not allow a run.
Davis led the way on offense with two hits and a run scored.
The series continues tomorrow night. RHP Justin Dillon gets the nod for New Hampshire and RHP Pedro Vasquez will start for Altoona. Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with the Fisher Cats Pregame Show and continues with first pitch at 6:00 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
The next homestand opens on Friday, June 22 with the first of three games with the Reading Fightin Phils at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
