Manchester, NH [4/17/2018] - Cavan Biggio went two for three with a triple and a run scored but Binghamton edged the Fisher Cats 4-3 on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Jeff McNeil hit two solo homers and Tim Tebow went 2-for-4 with two doubles for the Rumble Ponies (4-5), who won the first meeting year of the year with New Hampshire (7-3).
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s line shot into the left center field alley with a runner at third and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning was caught to preserve the win.
Tyler Bashlor earned the save for reliever Austin McGeorge (1-0). Jeff McNeil hit his second homer of the game with two outs in the top of the eighth inning off Justin Shafer (1-1) to break a 3-3 tie.
Binghamton opened the scoring on a solo homer by McNeil in the top of the second, only to have the Fisher Cats tie the game in the bottom of the third inning. Juan Kelly doubled and Bo Bichette plated him with a single to centerfield.
The Rumble Ponies moved back in front when Matt Oberste took starter Jon Harris deep in the top of the fourth inning. New Hampshire would again come back to tie. Cavan Biggio legged out a triple off the right field wall, scoring on a bloop single by Andrew Guillotte.
Binghamton would take the lead for a third time in the top of the fifth inning. Champ Stuart singled and advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches. Stuart scored on a single by Peter Alonso to make it 3-2.
New Hampshire tied the game in the bottom of the fifth. Bichette walked and Max Pentecost tripled to draw the Fisher Cats even.
The series continues on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. with Binghamton. RHP Francisco Rios (0-1, 6.14) is scheduled to start for the Fisher Cats against RHP Joseph Shaw (0-1, 6.00) for the Rumble Ponies. Coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
