Manchester, NH [5/28/19] - Juan Kelly drove in three runs and went deep for the third time in four games to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) to a 5-2 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies) on Monday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
21st overall pick T.J. Zeuch (W, 2-2) picked up his first win in Manchester, holding Hartford to two runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
The Fisher Cats never trailed, plating two runs in the opening frame. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled home Bo Bichette with a fly ball down the right field line, collecting his league-leading 50th RBI of the season. Two batters later, Jonathan Davis singled to right field and brought Guerrero home to make it 2-0.
In the third inning, Juan Kelly ripped a bases-loaded double off the right-field wall, scoring a pair of runs to extend the lead to 4-0.
Hartford got two runs back in the fifth, but Kelly blasted an estimated 430 ft. home run to center field to give New Hampshire a 5-2 cushion. Andrew Case (S, 4) recorded two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth to seal the win.
Bichette, Davis, Guerrero, and Kelly all finished with two hits, while Cavan Biggio went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
The win clinches the season series (12-2) and the Plymouth Rock Assurance Cup for the Fisher Cats, who keep the trophy after winning 11 of 19 games against the Yard Goats last season.
After taking four of five games from Hartford, the Fisher Cats will welcome the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) for a three-game series at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Tuesday night's game is presented by the Backyard Brewery, and it's another Tallboy Tuesday at the ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
