Manchester, NH [6/22/18] - Bo Bichette drilled his sixth home run of the season -- a two-run shot in the first -- but the Reading Fightin' Phils (Philadelphia Phillies Double-A affiliate) outlasted the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) 5-3 on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The Fisher Cats (43-29) opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. Jonathan Davis singled and stole second and Bichette blasted a first-pitch fastball to left for a 2-0 lead.
Reading (32-40) managed to tie the game in the top of the second inning when Darick Hall led off with a single and Zach Green homered. Another longball in the top of the third put the Fightin Phils in front for good. Jiandido Tromp singled and Cord Sandberg walked ahead of Darick Hall's home run that put Reading in the lead 5-2.
The Fisher Cats loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning, and scored a run when Cavan Biggio walked, but reliever Jeff Singer struck out Max Pentecost and got Harold Ramirez to fly out to end the game.
Franklyn Kilome (W, 2-4) worked six innings to earn the win, the sixth consecutive victory for the Fightin Phils. Justin Dillon (L, 1-3) worked six innings, allowing five runs in his start for the Fisher Cats. Travis Bergen and Dusty Isaacs each worked scoreless relief.
Davis led New Hampshire's offense with a 2-for-5 night, while Cavan Biggio (1-for-2, 3 BB, RBI) continues to lead the Eastern League with 49 walks and 57 RBIs.
