Manchester, NH [May 27, 2017] - With the help of two homers, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats overpowered the Reading Fightin' Phils 4-1 on Saturday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. It was New Hampshire's sixth win in seven games.
The two Fisher Cats homers came from two players listed at 5'8". Andrew Guillotte hit a solo shot off the top of the Samuel Adams Brewhouse in the fourth inning, and Jonathan Davis hit one off the facing of the Brewhouse the seventh.
With an early sac fly from Harold Ramirez and an RBI single by Danny Jansen, the run support was more than enough for Fisher Cats starter Chris Rowley (W, 2-1). The former U.S. Army First Lieutenant held Reading to one run on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts in six strong innings to lower his ERA to 1.75.
The Fightin' Phils lone run came on a homer from Scott Kingery in the third inning. Josh Degraaf (H, 1) and Dusty Isaacs (S, 1) combined to throw three innings of hitless relief, handing Reading its eighth-consecutive loss.
New Hampshire will have a chance for a third-straight series win as the series continues with a 4:05 p.m. game on Sunday. Toronto's top pitching prospect Sean Reid-Foley is scheduled to face Shane Watson.
