Manchester, NH - February 3, 2016 - All across New Hampshire there are families struggling to meet their basic needs. To help fight this battle, Bank of New Hampshire has donated $3,400 in support of the Manchester Fire Department and Operation Warm.
Operation Warm was founded to counter one of the most unfathomable hardships of childhood poverty; the lack of adequate winter clothing. By necessity, families struggling to survive prioritize food, heat, and rent above winter clothing resulting in frequent absenteeism from school. By donating money for new winter coats, individuals and businesses help relieve the burden of poverty and bring the gift of happiness and warmth to children in need. To date, Operation Warm has given new winter coats to over 1.7 million children throughout America and beyond. A brand new Operation Warm coat gives a child newfound freedom and confidence to play more, learn more, and do more.
"We are grateful for caring businesses such as Bank of New Hampshire," stated Brendan Burns, Captain/EMT for the Manchester Fire Department. "Through donations to Operation Warm, we can do so much more than keep children warm throughout winter months, we make them feel valued, respected and supported."
