Colebrook ATV Collision Injures
Elementary School Student.
Colebrook, NH - At approximately 11:20 AM on Monday, June 18, Conservation Officers were called to Diamond Pond Road in Colebrook to investigate a two-vehicle, head-on OHRV crash involving two minor operators, one of whom had sustained serious injuries. Dean Keyser, 8, of Pittsburg sustained a serious but non-life-threatening injury to his leg when the youth-model dirt bike he was operating collided with an ATV operated by Gavin Gilbert, 7, of Columbia. Both boys were ejected from their machines upon impact and both were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The collision occurred on private land owned by a family member of the injured boy and the boys were being supervised by an adult while riding.
Keyser was transported by 45th Parallel ambulance to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook and subsequently transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment of his injuries. Personnel from Colebrook Fire Department, 45th Parallel EMS and Colebrook Police Department all assisted at the scene.
Speed did not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
