The recent warm weather not withstanding, the Ice Castle will return to Lincoln this year: it's was already under production but
is now scheduled to open January 22, 2016.
Some readers may recall it being hosted at Loon Mountain. This season's castle will be located at the Hobo Railroad, 64 Railroad Street in Lincoln.
Ticket sales are best made online at
www.icecastles.com/lincoln/. Online pricing: weekdays child (4-11): $9.95, general (12+): $12.95, and weekends child (4-11): $11.95
general (12+): $15.95. Children 0-3 are always free. Tickets purchased at the gate cost more and admittance times are not guaranteed.
Once operational, the Ice Castle is open M-Th: 3pm to 9pm, Friday: 3pm to 10pm, Sat: Noon to 10pm and closed on Sundays. The site poses some challenges for handicapped / medically challenged visitors. DO visit the FAQ page online if you have questions. Pets are not permitted but registered service animals are welcome.
Photography is welcome. Private sessions can be scheduled for families or bridal parties but events are generally not permitted.
Do wear boots and warm clothing: everything in and about the structure is frozen.
