The National Institute on Aging (NIA) has found an easy way for you to prod someone you know or love to take action concerning their health. Part of a larger program called Go4Life, the NIA has created six cheesy-cute E-Cards that you can send to anyone on your Nudge List. With catchy titles like 'Let's Go To The Mall', 'You're My Hero' & "A Date To Exercise' there's a little something for everyone.
The cards are pretty basic but the software works well. It was easy to imagine that this was some fee service. The best part was there was no signup, no continuing commitment, no solicitous follow up. It just worked well! Well, except for the valediction. I couldn't figure out how to suppress the untyped 'Regards' that consistently appeared in each of my messages.
Oh, and be prepared for some pushback. Gmail cautioned me that I might not have sent the message and asked me if I wanted to "Report phishing."
The e-cards can be found
here. You'll also find some quality health resources worth checking out.
