Owl Brook, a multipurpose hunter education/outdoor skills training center, has been opened since 2002, and is made possible by the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act.

The Owl Brook Hunter Education Center not only teaches you how to hunt, but also educates with an eye on accountability. As their website states, they teach the skills and behaviors needed to become safe and responsible hunters, trappers and stewards of the state's natural resources.

Facilities include shooting ranges, classroom space, self-guided trails and an archery range. Events and seminars are conducted with the participation of N.H. Trappers Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

The wise visitor should check the website for directions - they're a bit involved, but just a couple miles off I-93, using either Exit 24 or 25.

For those with extensive hunting and outdoor experience, this would provide a great volunteer opportunity.
