Fort Jefferson Fun Park
1492 Presidential Highway, Route 2
Jefferson, NH 03853
(603) 586-4592
Formerly named Six Gun City, the old west comes alive here, plus coasters, go-karts and other rides, children will have a blast. The Brady family transformed a former family farm into a rootin' tootin' frontier in the late 1950s, and the tradition continues. Kids are appointed as sheriffs and deputies throughout the day, and trials are held to pronounce justice. Add in unique activities like panning for gold or stagecoach rides, and you have an engaging day for the family.
The water park includes a 40-foot slide which provides an amazing view of the White Mountains. A water coaster will provide thrills for all. Other water rides include the Saw Mill ride and Log Boats. The bumper boats allow small children to command their own vessel.
Parents will enjoy the museum which features a collection of stagecoaches and sleighs. Shopping can be fun at the general store and trading post.
Dads are admitted for free on Father's Day, as are grandparents on Grandparents Day. Halloween events include a celebration with a haunted house and corn maze.
Burgers, dogs and ice cream are available at the restaurant. Picnics are permitted. Visitors should take advantage of the park's restaurants, as area dining is a bit of a drive to Lancaster (about seven miles).
Get your posse together, and git along, little dawgy!
