Annual Jack Frost & Miss Snowflake Dance
A forty-year student favorite.
The Tapply-Thompson Community Center will be sponsoring the Annual Jack Frost & Miss
Snowflake Dance for 7th & 8th Grade students on Friday,
January 29th, 6:30pm at the Center, 30 North Main St., Bristol.
A forty-ish year Bristol tradition, the 7th & 8th Grade classes
each nominate five girls and five boys to compete for the
title of Jack Frost & Miss Snowflake. Teachers and staff are consulted about the nominees, and points are awarded
on the basis of volunteerism, extra curricular activities,
Community Center participation, grades and citizenship. The students gleaning the highest points win.
The 2016 7th grade candidates are Autumn Braley, Haley Dukette,
Amelia Monahan, Jasmine Peterson, Hailey Towne, Matthew Costigan,
Erik Hanser, Jacob Huckins, Matthew Karkheck and Garrett King.
The 8th grade candidates are Madison Avery, Bridget Conkling, Kathryn
Donnelly, Chassidy Leclair, Valentina Raptis, Nolan Hayes, Peter
Joffre, Leroy Laflamme, Brandon Marcoux and Aidyn Robbins. The winners
will be announced at 7:30 pm that evening and are awarded plaques.
The dance costs $5, is chaperoned by TTCC staff, and contestants' parents are
welcome to remain. Cookies, fruit juices, and other treats are welcome but the
Center has a policy against soda of any kind. 130-150 Students are
expected to participate. The dance is 'dress-up', not formal or semi-formal.
