Ossipee, NH
Ossipee is the county seat of Carroll County, near Routes 25 and 16. It is a popular resort area, but year-round residents appreciate the town's beauty. There are two villages, Center Ossipee and Ossipee Corner. In 2005, Ossipee became a Main Street community, a nationwide initiative fostering the growth and health of America's downtown areas.
Ossipee has been the location of British and Indian conflicts, and even battles between the Ossipee and Mohawk Indians.
Old Home Week in Ossipee is a series of fun events, contests and parades, and is usually held on or around the Fourth of July.
Recreation is available on the Bearcamp River, and Lake Ossipee.
Whitelakes Speedway, near the Tamworth town line offers miniature golf and a go-kart track.
White Lake State Park offers swimming, hiking and trout fishing.

Lodging includes Mount Whittier Motel, 1695 Route 16, Center Ossipee which offers a nice pool, and 19 rooms. Additional lodging is available in nearby Wolfeboro and Wakefield (both about 12 miles).
