I've always been a fan of the movie
It's a Wonderful Life. Jimmy Stewart & Donna Reed pair
wonderfully in this delightful Frank Capra romp. It has heartbreak, romance, imagination, fantasy, a villain and the careful attention of friends. I can't think of a single other thing/creation from 1946 that has made any mark upon me, other than this movie... I have seen it perhaps 20 times online and on DVD.
That said, nothing prepared me for the wonder and joy I experienced when I saw the movie on the big screen at the Flying Monkey in Plymouth last December 19th. Many subtle details emerged and came alive on the big screen that I had never noticed in other formats. Details were sharper and more memorable and there was a palpable shared audience joy during laugh lines and collective tears during the grand final scene. It was the same movie, but amplified in my psyche many times over for the big screen/audience environment.
