Colebrook Winter Carnival 2018

Kiwanis Club of Colebrook will be holding its annual Winter Carnival on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Colebrook Country Club in Colebrook, NH.
The Carnival will kick off with a Pancake Breakfast to benefit students traveling to Washington, D. C. with the American Heritage Tour in May 2018. Tickets for the breakfast are $10 per person and are available from Colebrook students going on the tour, or at the breakfast. Menu includes pancakes, home fries, sausage or bacon, syrup, juice and coffee. Attendees can also enter a free drawing for a quart of maple syrup.
The 14th Annual Peter Goudreau Memorial Bocce Tournament begins at 8:30 a.m., with registration at 8:00 a.m. Teams wishing to register may call Butch Ladd at the Sentinel at 237-5501 or 603-276-0113 for more information. Registration is $60 per team (4 players).
The children's Cardboard Box Derby takes place at 9:00 a.m. on the sliding hill behind the Country Club. Three age groups--5 to 7 years, 8 to 10 years, and 11 years and up, will compete for trophies for First Finisher, Best Box, and Best Wipeout. Registration forms and box guidelines went home last month with area students. Forms will also be available at the event. Registration is free, but parental permission and signature are required. This year, area Builders Clubs will compete in a Corn Hole Tournament. The tournament will he held at 10:00 a.m. The winning team will take home a trophy and $50 cash for their club treasury. The Cribbage Cohorts Cribbage Tournament will start at 1:00 p.m. Winners for first, second and third place will receive gift certificates from local businesses. The Cohorts welcome members of the public to join in the tournament and play cribbage.
Chris and Joyce Brady will give free horse & sleigh rides on the golf course from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Food will be available throughout the day from the Kiwanis Food Booth. Menu includes hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, french fries and drinks.
The Kiwanis TV Raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 p.m. This year's winner will receive a 49-inch LG 4K UHD HDR Smart LED TV with Ultra Surround Sound. Raffle tickets are available at Lin-Jo Creations and the Colebrook Country Club, and will be sold at LaPerle's IGA on Wednesday, February 14th, Friday, February 16th and Wednesday, February 21st. Tickets are $2 each or $5 for a book of 3.
All proceeds from the Carnival benefit area children with programs such as the Literacy Initiative, putting free books into the hands of every child, and the Bike Rodeo, teaching bicycle safety.
In addition to Kiwanis events, the Response: Domestic and Sexual Violence Support Center will hold a one-day 50/50 raffle and drawing to benefit family programs.
