Opera North's Summerfest 2018
Events start July 20th.
Lebanon, NH - Opera North has announced their Summerfest 2018 concerts and special events, Opera North's 36th season, runing July 13 to August 14, 2018. The series features the following events at landmark locations in New Hampshire and Vermont, including The Fells Historic Estate & Gardens in Newbury (NH), Lake Sunapee Cruises in Sunapee (NH), and Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro (VT).
Singers & Swingers - Friday - Sunday, July 13-15, Various Times.
Blow-Me-Down Farm, Cornish, NH
Circus artists and singers come together to create an exhilarating evening from the high wire to the high C's. Enjoy live music - from the Broadway stage to the Opera house - in a beautiful outdoor setting on the banks of the Connecticut River.

Musical Soirée - Friday, July 20, 7:30 pm.
Highland Center for the Arts, Greensboro, VT
Opera North's artists will preview coming attractions. The 2018 Resident Artists, young professionals chosen from national auditions, will present highlights from 2018 season along with some of their favorite opera and musical theatre repertoire.

Artist Showcase - Saturday, July 21, 6:00 pm.
Lebanon United Methodist Church, Lebanon, NH
Opera North's artists showcase their unique virtuosity talents at this special concert. It's a unique opportunity to get to know these distinguished young professionals and hear their vocal virtuosity.

Veranda Concert - Sunday, July 22, 5:00 pm.
The Fells Historic Estate & Gardens, Newbury, NH
Celebrate the history of The Hay family at their home on Lake Sunapee with a musical salon on the veranda. The concert will include a special celebration of Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday as well as a preview of Opera North's 2018 season. The gardens and woodland trails of the historic property will be open to participants.

Musical Dinner Cruise on Lake Sunapee - Thursday, July 26, 6:00 pm
Town Dock, Sunapee, NH
A cruise around Lake Sunapee will feature music by Opera North artists and dinner. The 2-hour cruise will include unique views of local mountains and historic lighthouses.

Tales of Hoffmann - Selected Dates & Times, August 3-12
Lebanon Opera House, Lebanon, NH
Offenbach's fantastical story of poet and painter E.T.A. Hoffmann's quest for true love. A mechanical doll, the sinister Dr. Miracle, the famous Barcarolle in a Venetian grotto, and a muse guide the poet on this journey into the imagination. A bubbling score, wondrous settings and amazing costumes abound in Offenbach's final magical masterpiece.

Barber of Seville - Selected Dates & Times, August 5-14
Lebanon Opera House, Lebanon, NH
Young love is aglow in this bodacious comic romp. Your heart will thump with glee as Rossini's joyous tunes come bounding out. Hijinks ensue as Figaro plays puppet master, while a count in disguise courts Rosina and steals her heart away from the ancient Dr. Bartolo. Virtuoso vocal pyrotechnics will have your hands clapping throughout.

In addition to these special events, the mainstage productions for Summerfest 2018 begin with an immersive circus-themed show - Singers & Swingers - at Blow-Me-Down Farm in Cornish, New Hampshire from July 13 to 15, which is followed by two mainstage productions - Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann and Rossini's Barber of Seville - at Lebanon Opera House, from August 3 - 14. Tickets can be purchased online at www.operanorth.org or through the Box Office at (603) 448-0400. Prices start at $20, with the best seats going for $90.
